20000 decimal digits of e (plus the 2.)

These were calculated using the BigFloat.GetE() function, from my C# arbitrary precision library. This function is rather inefficiently implemented, so this took a fairly long time (around 2 minutes as opposed to 50 seconds for the same number of digits of pi). The last digit is truncated, not rounded, otherwise it would be a 9.

The method used to calculate e is to evaluate the series: e = 1 + 1/1! + 1/2! + 1/3! + ...

A naive implementation of this would be even slower, but I used the fact that e^x = 1 + x/1! + x^2/2! + ... and then simply took x = 1/2^m (where m is the square root of the number of bits required). This calculates the 2^m th root of e, which is then squared m times to yield e. This choice guarantees that each iteration adds m bits of precision to the sum, and the final result does not seem to lose too much precision as a consequence.

Side Note: The error of this method fluctuates wildly with the number of bits in the calculation. For 65536 + 2048 bits, the last 2000+ decimal digits are wrong, but for 65536 + 16384 bits, fewer than 250 digits are incorrect (all the digits listed below are correct, btw!).

The reason for the slowness overall is that the library only supports schoolbook multiplication (slow for high precisions), that it is written in C#, and that I did not bother to eliminate the divisions from the terms of the sum being calculated (which can of course be done).
